Real Comapania Velha

A great producer in the Douro, Real Compania Velha was selected to produce a series of wines and ports for the most famous resort and golf course in Portugal - the Vila Sol.

 

These fine wines and 10 Year Old Tawny Port are now available in BC (the year-round golfing paradise of Canada).

Golfers Wine 10 Years Old Tawny Port

This Port is produced by skilful blending of wines that are matured for a minimum of 10 years in the timeless setting of Port wine.  Slightly lighter colour, long and persistent nose, creamy and minty, choice and good. 

 

This is an excellent example of the smooth velvety wine that is 10 years old!

Golfers Wine DOC Douro Red 2004

This wine was orginally produced for Vila Sol Spa & Golf Resort in the Algarve in the south of Portugal from carefully selected grapes of the best varieties in Douro (in the north),  The Golfers' red ages about 8 months in oak barrels.

 

It shows a beautiful dark red colour with viaolet tints.  The intense aroma of berries, green tobacco and vanilla harmoniously integrated with full body, soft tannins and subtle oak signal the excellent quality of this wine.

 

Although it may be consumed with great gusto now, it can cellar nicely until 2012.

Golfers Wine DOC Douro White 2007

Produced from the traditional grapes of the vineyards: Moscatel bodied Galego, Viosinho, Arinto and Fernão pires, the Golfers' white had a beautiful straw colour. 

 

The nose is very complex with intense floral and white fruit aromas.  On the palate this medium bodied wine is presented witha good balancing acididty and flavours of peaches and melon.

 

Enjoy with cold soups, saladsm poultry and fish dishes with your good friends, in the sun, on the deck!
