Fattoria di Luiano is located about 10Km from Florence in the norther part of the traditional Chianti Classico region. | Chianti Classico DOCG 2007 This wine is obtained by a careful vinification of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes in small vats. The fermentation lasted a maximum of fifteen days keeping the temperature under control by an intense re-pumping activity aimed at also keeping the cap of pressed vines under constant flood. This is a full-bodied wine was aged for fourteen months in barrels and vats before being bottled. Only 5800 cases were produced. Ruby red in colour, with strong aromas of red berry fruits. The taste is intense, vigorous and persistent. It is an excellent accompaniment for the great flavours of the Tuscan cuisine, including cold meats, and cheeses, and tasty first courses such as pasta, oven cooked pastas and risotto. | Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva ORO 2005 An exceptional wine from an exceptional year, this Riserva wine was produced from the finest Sangiovese (85%), Canaiolo (10%), and Trebbiano / Malvasia (5%) grapes hand-picked on the Chianti Classico Luiano Estate. Only 2,500 cases were made. Harvested late September / early October, the grapes underwent a traditional red wine fermentation in stainless steel tanks with an intentional warming to encourage a secondary malolactic fermentation. The wine was then aged 3 years in oak casks in an aging room that goes back to the 12th century. Possessing a ruby to deep cherry red colour with a persistent bouquet, this full bodied wine is smooth, round, dry, and mouth-filling. Very good length; it leaves a pleasant after-taste. A wine that well suits all red meats, roasts, game and poultry. SKU 362426

The essence of Sangiovese, (from Latin – Sangris Jovis – the blood of Jupiter)obtained by the grapes being processed under soft pressure at cold tempertures. An honest red wine that captures cherries, violets and white pepper in a bottle. Fresh, fruity and soft on the palate, good balance, light tannins and medium length.
