| Old World | | | | | | | Italy | | | |  | Since 1853, the Ciavolich family has cultivateds fine wine grapes from vineyards located in Abruzzo: South Central Italy. The estate consists of 44 hectares stretched out between the territory of Chieti and Pescara. The vineyeards, located at an altitude varying between 80 – 300 meters above sea level, are exposed to the north and to the south depending on the various cultivation needs. The most common method of cultivation is the pergola, for particular varieties the "guyot" procedure is used. The number of vines, averaging 25 years old, ranges from 2.500 to 3.500 per hectare with a distance of 2,5 meters between the rows. Low yeilds and high quality.

Smooth in the mouth, warm gentle tannins in good balance with the alcohol. Typical licorice aftertaste. Best served at 18-20°C, this superb Montepulciano d’Abruzzo will perfectly match red roasted meat, lamb chops, prosciutto and salami, parmigiano and every matured cheese.
