Château de la Meuliére

Situated on the outskirts of Bordeaux, the Premiéres Côtes de Bordeaux are eminently suited to vine growing with their excellent sloping sunny exposures. The 15 Ha of Château de la Meulière possess a south-east exposure on its plateaus and an east-west on its gradients.  The soils of the property are composed of clayey gravels in large part but has chalky clays too.

AOC Pemières Côtes de Bordeaux 2000 Grand Réserve Emotion

This Cuvée is the result of the strict selection of old vines. The wine is matured 24 months in new French oak barrels. In this vintage, the blend is 60% of Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% of Cabernet Franc.

The colour is intense, the nose is complex and elegant (vanilla, mocha, cacao, and red fruit) with hints of liquorice and spices. Only 100 cases made. Perfect now and will cellar nicely until 2018

AOC Premières Côtes de Bordeaux 2003

Using the utmost care in all stages of the winemaking process, Gerard Laurencin and his son Gilles use traditional methods and modern techniques to craft this wine. The blend of 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon was control temperature fermented and had a long maceration. The wine was allowed to mature in both tanks and barrels for 12 to 15 months prior to bottling. Only top quality oak barrels were used for the maturation.

This is a firm but elegant deep purple wine with a delicate bouquet, fine tannins and a very rich complexity of aromas. Value and flavour packed it best accompanies roasted and grilled meat and game dishes and medium cheeses.
