Château Fontesteau

http://www.fontesteau.com/

Completely rebuilt a few years ago, this remarkable 13th Century Château can be found 5 km from Paulliac and approximately 50 km north of Bordeaux. Of the 100 Ha belonging to the Château Fontesteau estate, 32 are planted with the typical grapes of the region.

For the past 20 years, Château Fontesteau has believed in protecting the principals of minimally invasive vineyard management by severely restricting the employment of synthetic fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides and, have allowed the natural defences of the vines themselves to play the key role.

AOC Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois 2004

This classic, well-balanced and elegant Bordeaux wine with beautifully structured tannins was produced and bottled at the Château from estate grown fruit and is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot.
