This prestigious Côtes du Rhône Château has been managed since 1880 by the Dupond family (the same as Château du Cray in Burgundy).  The 140 Ha estate (which is a single stretch of land)  has 120Ha are under vines in the heart of the Uchaux Massif, near Orange, mainly produce red wines appreciated in France and around the world.

 

The winery has garnered well over 160 awards and medals in the past 9 years.

The principally Grenache and Syrah with small amounts of Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvédre and Clairette grown on chalky, clay and stony (large flat rocks) are vinified separately before being blended into a powerful wine yet elegant wine.

 

Visually it is deep garnet red colour with crimson tints. On the nose you will find black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) and  nuances of olive and spices.  And, on the palate it is full of fruit, with good balance and well integrated tannins. Concentrated and long on the palate.

 

Enjoy at 15 to 20°Celsius with a variety of red and white meats and with cheese.
