Gulfi, Az. Ag.
www.gulfi.it

Gulfi’s objective is to preserve the land so as to pass on what our forefathers left us: over 2000 years of history, culture and hard work so that we can handover to our sons and daughters an integral land, that is immense in its beauty and richness. The wines are the fruit of traditional and bioorganic winegrowing and non-invasive vinification. The legend of Eros (Love) and Psyche (Beauty) that are envied by Venus, are obliged to hide their love and meet one another in the dark. From this passion gives rise to Voluptuousness and pleasure. This is a metaphor where Eros is Gulfi, and its love to his wonderful land (Psyche), gives rise to his wines that are pure expression of Pleasure (Voluptuousness).

2010 Carjcanti - Sicilia Bianco IGT

85% Carricante & 15% Albanello

CARJCANTI is a blend of native Carricante and Albanello, autochthonous white grapes which have been cultivated for centuries on Mount Iblea in the province of Ragusa. Pale yellow with green reflections, it has aromas that are intense, big, fruity with undertones of green apple. On the palate it is dry, harmonious, and pleasantly tart, with a finish of anise and almond.

2010 Rossojbleo Sicilia Rosso IGT

Nero d'Avola

ROSSOJBLEO (the “j” is pronounced as a “i”) is a simple red wine, best consumed young; it offers yet another way of expressing the Nero d'Avola production area of Chiaramonte Gulfi (Ragusa) in South-East Sicily. The aromas of red fruit and typically "sweet" tannins that persist are the most significant components. Ruby red with violet reflections to the eye; loads of red fruit with hints of lavender and nutmeg on the nose, it is a wine that finishes with harmonious, fragrant, and refreshing flavours.

This light, fragrant, unimposing red goes confidently with the most simple pasta and risotto dishes (optimal with a pizza topped only with tomato sauce and fresh basil, for example), as well as antipasti, deli meats and fish prepared with lightly aromatic herbs. Intriguing, too, with "autumn" accompaniments such as fire-roasted chestnuts. Serve at 16-18C.

2012 Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG

Nero d'Avola

The Frappato, “Calarvisi” (Nero d'Avola) grapes harvested in the first half of October and are vinified into red with brief maceration at a controlled temperature. Cherry red with violet reflections in colour; a nose characteristic of cherry and peach; on the palate it is balanced, salty and refreshing.

A simple red wine, best consumed young; a typical terroir-driven expression that is a good red aperitif that matches very well with all the fish-dishes in which tomato sauce is present. Very well flavour-balanced with all preparations where Mediterranean herbs are involved.
