Tiare Mate 2000

Merlot D.O.C. Collio

A Cru wine exhibiting the true ripe fruit characteristics of Merlot coming from the estate's densely planted, low yield vineyards in the Collio Friulano region of north-east Italy.  Only 8,000 bottles produced. Hand selected, traditionally vinified and barrique aged; this is a wine that ranks amongst the best. Deep ruby red, luscious raspberry and black berry flavours it is well suited to roast meats and game.  Will cellar well; best enjoyed 2004 to 2008.

Of 10,000+ wines produced annually in Italy about 200 are selected by Gambero Rosso for their coveted Tre Bicchieri (Three Glass) award; this fabulous blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Picolit and Moscato Giallo has won this award, a record four years.

Only 8,000 bottles produced from the Livon BraideAlte vineyard.  Fermentation took place in Allier oak barriques by variety; the musts were then removed and the wines were further refined in the same barriques for eight more months prior to final blending and bottling; then a further cycle of 12 to 16 months in bottle prior to release. 

An intense straw-coloured wine golden reflections.  The bouquet is intense and spicy and the flavour is elegant and dry.  It is a wine of great structure, full-bodied and warm, with an almost untamed nose, strongly reminiscent of Sancerre, is intense in its long lasting aromatic flavours.  BC is indeed fortunate to have received these limited quantities.

Tiareblu 1997

Less than 6,000 bottles of this very special wine were produced from a blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc grapes coming form 25 year old vines of the Tiareblù vineyard. Both fermentation and 12 to 14 months of maturation took place in 225 litre oak barriques prior to blending; followed by 18 months of bottle ageing prior to release.

The colour is bright red with garnet nuances. The bouquet is intense, pronounced, and full; and, includes the aromas of wild-berry, light vanilla, along with aromatic wood. It is a full flavoured wine with lots of body and the flavour and grace of a great wine.

Riul 2002

Refosoco dal Peduncolo Rosso  D.O.C. Colli Orientali del Friuli

Produced from 100% Refosco grapes grown in a single vineyard; hand picked and then fermented at a controlled temperature of 23oC and vinified in stainless steel at 18oC. Finally, refined in 225 litre barriques for 13 months and bottled aged a further 4 months.

Deep ruby red colour with slight garnet-red hues. The bouquet is full of a wide spectrum of aromas including raspberry, currant, blackberry, and liquorice. It is full bodied, well balanced, and has a persistent and refined flavour. Only 7500 bottles produced.

Groviglio 2000 

vdt Rosso 

A lively, medium-bodied table wine blended from Cabernet Sauvignon and Schioppettino grapes grown in the Colli Orientali region of north-eastern Italy wine.

Bright ruby red in colour; a nose of dried roses and violets and slightly austere on the palate. It is a fine accompaniment to chicken, game birds, rabbit, veal, and pastas.

Casali Godia 1997 

Verduzzo Friulano D.O.C. Colli Orientali del Friuli

A delectable and aromatic reception and dessert wine made from 100% Verduzzo Friulano grapes from a single vineyard. Hand picked, partially dried for 40 days then soft pressed and allowed to ferment for 2 days on the skins; the fermentation and maturation occurred in 225 litre barriques for almost 9 months. Allowed to age in the bottle for a minimum of an additional 6 to 12 months prior to sale.

Only 7,500 bottles (.500L) produced. A golden colour with a well balanced harmonious fragrance of peach, apricot, beeswax, plum and rennet. A sweet dessert wine which is full bodied, tannic, and tasty without ever becoming overly sweet.
