La Tour Château Grand Moulin 2002
A.O.C. Corbières
A wine produced from 30% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 5% Cinsault and 45% Carignan hand harvested from vines grown facing the South East on the clayey-chalky, rolled pebble slopes in the terrace of the Orbieu River. With the first sorting on the vine and the second upon arrival to the cellar, only perfect fruit is used to produce this wine.45% of the grapes undergo a semi carbonic maceration for 25 days; the remaining 55%, after a cold maceration, undergo a traditional fermentation for 20 days. Extraction is achieved by mechanical punching of the cap. It is matured in tanks with three rackings. The results are impressive. A rich red colour with full spice and fruit on the nose. Soft and supple in the mouth with hints of raspberries, cherries and a note of vanilla on the finish. Good length.
