Beaujolais: A 50 km long region located in the southern part of Burgundy. In the northern 30 km, where the highest class of wines (the cru) and Beaujolais-Villages are produced, the soil is granitic schist - perfectly suitable for growing the Gamay variety. The southern 20 km part offers a clay and limestone geological structure; wines here have the right to be called Beaujolais. Vinification by carbonic maceration, contributes the best results for Gamay.
The wines of Brac de la Perrière will age well for a few years in the bottle where father time will turn them into wines very similar to their cousins in Burgundy.
The Brac de la Perrière are descendents of the French Nobility - their history is that of the Beaujolais region. Recently, the four brothers were joined by a few cousins (Château du Cray) and close friends, all of whom are owner-vintners, for the express purpose of developing the products and thus offer a range of Beaujolais "cru."
The family ideology is not concerned with production efficiencies. The important thing for there wines is not the quantity but the quality. The wines of the 15 domains proposed by Brac de la Perrière are vinified in compliance with family tradition, each of which is produce and bottled on its own estate.

Château des Tours
Appellation Brouilly Controlée 1998
Château des Tours has 50 hectares of vines all planted facing south on arid granitic soil within the appellation of Brouilly. There is a high proportion of old vines and the wine is vinified in the traditional Beaujolais manner, which involves a long fermentation at low temperature using the demi-maceration technique. Château des Tours has been making wine from the same vineyards since 1153 AD. The Brouilly of Château des Tours has a delightful intense purple-mauve colour with a bouquet of violets and raspberries. On the palate it is lively, rich, balanced, and tender with an immediate appeal. Try it with boiled meats (pot au feu) or game. SKU 455477

Château du Pavé
Appellation Brouilly Controlée 2001
The Brouilly Château du Pavé is estate produced and vinified by Michel Brac de la Perrière. The location of the vineyard is exceptional: at the foot of the Brouilly hill, with a southern exposure that guarantees a maximum of sunshine. Exceptional wine; very typical of the Appellation: deep ruby in colour, aromas of red fruits, roses and violets, and a very long finish. A wine for ageing. Only 2700 cases produced.

Domaine des Rageats
Appellation Fleurie Controlée 2000
Les Rageats, an old forgotten name, like its vineyard located behind the Chapel, very near Labouons. It is a Fleurie, a name which inspires romance, that is best described as a floral wine - a nose of iris, rose, and violet, depending on its moods. Domaine des Rageats offers a delicate wine that can only please a true lover of refined pleasures.

Domaine des Bucherats
Appellation Juliénas Controlée 2000
La Bottière. Les Bucherats, is located at the entry of the village of Juliénas. There, at the Domaine des Bucherats, Martin, the vine-dresser, has cultivated the vine like his father and grandfather before him. Ample, square and honest, this Juliénas is the image of the one who lovingly cares for it. A beautiful Domaine with a typical, regional house and a classical vat-room. As it is ageing it takes on more of the characteristics of its cousins to the north in Burgundy. Enjoy it with cold meat plates and cheeses. Only 4000 cases produced.

Domaine le Chêne du Py
Appellation Morgon Controlée 2003
In Morgon, everyone knows the best climate for producing the best wine is La Côte de Py. It is there that the grapes offer their lovely taste to the Morgon; there, too, that you will find one lonely, old oak tree that has given it a peculiar woody taste and imprinted its mark on the soil. It is a top level Morgon. Difficult to find a more faithful, typical, or authentic wine. It is full-bodied, tannic, and manly product, issued from a cuvée with a long and immersed maceration. It will improve year after year.

Domaine les Brigands
Appellation Moulin-A-Vent Controlée 2004
Les Brigands, The Ruffians, have always been known to love good wine. The Moulin-A-Vent of this little estate deserves its name. Its vines are planted in pink granite earth with a manganatic subsoil. It is a voluptuous wine that will express itself to the fullest with a dish of game or red meat.

Domaine des Grands Vents
Appellation Saint-Amour Controlée 2004
Les Grands Vents, The High Winds, sweep through this vineyard. They blow north or west and seem to gather strength between the vine stocks. To the producers great satisfaction, Mother Nature in her roughness, produces this stocky wine with tannic body. A generous wine that will not fret at being served with a good dish of game. It is definitely a wine that you can keep for years and will get better and better. Only 2000 cases made.

Domaine de la Brasse
Appellation Beaujolais-Villages Controlée 2004
This completely renovated estate lies on each side of the road, which borders the Brouilly area. Although its vineyards are classified Beaujolais-Villages, it generates a fruity wine, but has the depth of the cru it borders. Vinified in the traditional Beaujolais manner, it will be difficult, even for an experienced taster, to see a difference. Its crimson color, red fruit fragrance, and a tannic body make it difficult to distinguish from its Brouilly neighbour. 3300 cases.

Notre-Dame de Croix-Rouge
Appellation Beaujolais Controlée 2001
Bertrand Brac de la Perrière’s vineyard is situated in the proximity of the Grand Cru Brouilly. He produces light and floral wine by low temperature fermentation from hand-picked organically grown grapes. A bouquet of wild and powerful aromas married with pleasantly smooth flavours characterize this perfect wine to commence a meal. Serve slightly chilled at 16oC. The exceptional lightness of Notre-Dame de Croix-Rouge has been remarked upon by numerous wine experts worldwide. This 1999 vintage was selected by the wine tasting specialists Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson to illustrate fine Beaujolais in the 5th Edition of their famous “World Atlas of Wine.”
